Terms and conditions
General Acceptance
By Booking your dog into our kennels constitutes full acceptance of these terms and conditions. Only Beverley Cornthwaite, owner of The Old Pastures Boarding Kennels has authority to alter these terms and conditions.
Viewing and Booking
You are welcome to look around the kennels by appointment only before committing to any agreement. When booking, we require completed booking and animal information form. Please provide as much information as possible about your dog(s) including temperament and specific care needs. It is your responsibility to ensure that all information remains accurate each time you visit. Additionally, a short checklist must be completed at the start of each stay.
Licencing and legal requirements.
To Comply with Licencing regulations
· All dogs must to be fully vaccinated and an up-to-date vaccination certificate must be presented on the first day of their stay, along with the dog’s microchip number and the data base with which they are registered too.
· All dogs must wear a collar with a tag displaying the owners contact details on.
· The Old pastures reserve the right to refuse any dogs stay if these licencing and legal requirements are not met.
Flea and Worn Treatment
All Dogs must be regularly treated for fleas and worms. Evidence of this treatment must be provided on the first day of their stay in the kennels. Dogs should be treated for fleas monthly and for worms every 3 months. If your dog is due their monthly spot-on treatment for fleas during their stay, you may provide the treatment, and we will administer it.
If no evidence of Flea and worm treatment is provided, The Old Pastures reserve the right to refuse their stay on the day they come in. If you dog is found to have fleas whilst staying with us, we will bathe your dog using a basic flea shampoo, and the cost of this service will be added to your final bill.
Kennel Cough Vaccination
We strongly recommend that all dogs receive the kennel cough vaccine, at least two weeks prior to their stay. Whilst we do not refuse entry for lack of a kennel cough vaccine, we accept no liability if your dog contracts kennel cough during their stay. However, we reserve the right to refuse entry if a dog shows any signs of ill health upon arrival.
Deposits and Cancellations
A deposit of 25% of your total booking fee is required to confirm your booking. We do not hold bookings without a deposit. If you are paying by bank transfer to confirm a booking and the transfer has not been received within 2 days, of booking, we reserve the right to cancel that booking.
· If cancelled 6 weeks or less before the start date, the deposit is non-refundable.
· If cancelled 6 to 8 weeks before the start date, the deposit can be transferred to another booking.
· If cancelled more than 8 weeks before the start date, the deposit is refundable.
· If cancelled within 5 days of the start date, the full booking fee is payable.
Pandemic-Related Cancellations
· If the UK enters a lock down, your deposit is fully refundable or transferable.
· If the destination country for your holiday enters a lockdown while the UK remains open, the standard cancellation policy applies.
Pricing
Our prices are per day and begin from the drop-off date, regardless of the time of arrival, until the pick-up date. If you collect your dog by 10am, you will not be charged for that day.
Prices are subject to change. The deposit amount is based on the price at the time of booking, please refer to our website or ask staff for update prices.
Payment and Outstanding Balances
Full payment is required upon collection of your dog. If paying by bank transfer, full amount must be received before collection. Any additional expenses incurred for the wellbeing of your dog during their stay will be added to your final bill, with receipts provided.
The Old pastures boarding kennels reserve the right to hold dogs until the full amount is received and to charge for each additional day the dog remains with us due to non-payment.
Outstanding Balance Clause:
Any outstanding balance owed from previous bookings may be deducted from deposits paid for future bookings.
Early Collection or Late Arrival
If you Collect your dog earlier than the date you have booked or bring your dog in later than the scheduled drop-off, you will still be charged for the full booking period. We will also charge a full day on the last day of your booking period, regardless of whether you may or may not have picked up by 10am on that day, unless prior notice of at least 5 days is provided of any changes.
Additional Charges
Additional charges apply on the following days:
· Christmas day, Boxing day, New year’s day and Easter Sunday: Please ask members of staff for current price.
Medication out of ours charged at £15.60 inclusive of vat per administration.
Special Requirement Kennels
We have two kennels, away from the main block, Suitable for dogs with special requirements, these kennels can be requested but cannot be reserved. If a dog with grater needs arrives, we reserve the right to move dogs into the main kennels.
Veterinary Care
Dogs will be cared for to the best of our ability. If veterinary care is required, we will use our designated veterinary practice, Hampden vets, Aylesbury. If hospitalisation is necessary, treatment will continue there until the owner returns or the dog recovers, if isolation is required after treatment, the dog will be housed in our isolation unit.
Veterinary expenses incurred during the stay will be payable by the client upon collection.
Personal Belongings
The Old Pastures does not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to items left by the client.
Third Party Collection and Visits
We will take no dog off our site unless it is to go to the vets.
If you require a third party to come and take your dog off site e.g. a dog walker, trainer, or a family member whilst they are staying with us. we require a full written and signed permission from the owner. With all the details of that third party. With out this we reserve the right to refuse Collection. We hold no responsibility if you incurred charges from the third party for their time.
We hold no responsibility for your dog, from the time we handover your dog to that named person in our reception to the time we receive the dog back in our reception.
We also hold no responsibility for any illness or injury that your dog may have sustained whilst staying with us, if third parties are also involved in their care, unless they incurred an injury that is a direct result of the Kennels.
You will be responsible for making sure that the Third party comes with in the hours of 9am to 4pm please note if a third party brings a dog back after this time your dog May miss their tea and evening let out. If a third party returns your dog after our closing time (please make yourself familiar with the times from our website as they differ from day to day) that the third party will then be responsible for Housing your dog overnight until we are open again. you will still be charge for that night that regardless. Even if you incur charges from your pet sitter etc for that night. We do not hold any responsibility if you get charged extra from your third party if they get held up waiting for us to handover your dog, if we are busy attending to other clients or dogs.
Collection and Final Payment
We will only release dogs to clients unless otherwise notified. If someone else is collecting your dog please inform us during drop-off or by phone on the day of collection, we reserve the right to refuse collection by an unauthorised person.
The final bill must be settled before the dog is released, it is the responsibility of the owner to make sure that this is put in place.
Food and Diet
We Provide a complete dried diet. If the dog requires meat or a special diet, you must supply this and supply enough for the entire stay. If we run out, we will purchase an equivalent product, and the cost will be added to the final bill.
Exercise
All dogs will come out of their kennel four times a day, twice into our outside runs and twice for walks. Once the dogs are in the secure exercise paddock, we can let them off the lead to run and play. We advise all clients to view our exercise paddock, if you believe your dog could jump the fence or escape in any way, you need to inform us and put it in writing on the booking form. We accept no responsibility if your dog escapes.
Liability for Injury or Damage
The Client is responsible for compensating The Old Pastures for any injury or damage caused by their dog to staff, other dogs or the premises. If your dog is not stated as being unsuitable for socialisation on the booking form, the client remains liable for any injuries inflicted on other dogs
Client Responsibility
Clients must provide complete and accurate information about their dog(s). Any omissions or misrepresentations may result in refusal of entry or liability for damages.
